Nowadays, professionals tend to implement and combine new approaches with existing methods of working with children with SEND. Considering the rapidly growing body of knowledge and evidenced impact of various methods in practice, there is a recognised need for multidisciplinary approach in knowledge exchange and planning for the future.
In order to address that need and start the dialogue among experts, the main focus of this conference are innovative methods and approaches to working with children with SEND.
The main focus areas (themes) of the conference are:
- Multidisciplinary approaches, methods and techniques in working with children and young people with SEND
- Sensory integration: early intervention and school age
- Family as a key factor in planning and implementing educational, prevention and therapeutic programmes
- Evaluation and progress – Data collection and analysis for planning, monitoring and evidencing impact.
- Therapeutic work in the process of upbringing and education of children and young people with SEND
Are you working with children with SEND in a research or professional capacity? Do you want to share your knowledge and experience with others? No registration fee is required for speakers at the conference.
Basic criteria for selection of submissions:
- Clearly defined aim and theme
- Originality of the contribution
- Relevance to the thematic area and general theme of the conference
- Potential for discussion (interactivity) and development of future collaboration and projects (replicability)
- Impact on practice, research and/or policy
- Conformity with contemporary empirical and/or clinical knowledge and evidence
Instructions for submitting the abstract
Abstracts should be written in English or Croatian language. They are restricted to 300 words and may not contain any tables and graphs. Please include 3-5 key words. Abstract, in case of original research, should be structured and include following: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion.
In other cases, the abstract should include:
- A brief description of the problem (or current situation in practice) that motivated you
- The purpose or goal of your work, project or research
- Description Method, approach or combination of different ideas with which you came to the result (in practice or research)
- Your observations, results and / or feedback from users and families
- Your advice or contribution to practice
- The final date for submission of the applications: 4.4.2022
- The date of the formal acceptance of active applications (selected by the Conference Program Committee): 5.5.2022
- The final date for submission of the presentation and any visual materials used: 3.6.2022
